Individual Counselling
My work with individuals focuses on meeting clients where they are at and supporting them in becoming more connected, authentic versions of themselves, while building emotional capacity, resilience, and overall wellbeing.
I aim to understand each client’s unique challenges, hopes, and goals, while offering psychoeducation on the brain, neurodiversity, nervous system regulation, attachment, and the impact of stress and trauma on mood, cognition, emotions, and behaviour.
Through traditional talk therapy, combined with somatic psychotherapy and other therapeutic modalities, I support clients to increase self-awareness, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and build deeper connections. When we feel calm and connected, we are often more empathic, more curious, and better able to learn and maintain focus.
Clients often seek counselling when they are feeling stressed or anxious, navigating life transitions, struggling with addictions, processing grief, or experiencing challenges in their relationships. Together, we work to understand your triggers, identify existing resources that support regulation, and build greater mental and emotional resilience.
Counselling can support you in reducing anxiety and depression, managing ADHD symptoms, and developing healthier patterns in your life and relationships—while deepening self-understanding and creating meaningful, lasting change.
Common Areas of Focus Include
Nervous system regulation
Anxiety and depression
Neurodivergence, including ADHD, PMDD, and sensory sensitivities
Addiction concerns
Attachment issues and interpersonal conflict
Life transitions
Childhood trauma
Grief and loss
Relationship challenges
My Approach
In my counselling practice, I draw on a number of therapeutic approaches and theories. My work is grounded in a bio-psycho-social perspective, meaning we explore how you are functioning across your neurobiology, thoughts, emotions, and relationships.
I work extensively with the nervous system, helping clients understand what optimal functioning looks like for them. In counselling, I support clients in learning to track their stress responses so they can avoid going from 0–100 and better recognize when they are beginning to enter a stressed state of fight, flight, or freeze.
This approach is especially helpful for those experiencing anxiety, addictive behaviors, relationship issues, impacts of childhood trauma or emotional overwhelm. Together, we work to understand your triggers, identify the resources you already have that help bring you back to a state of calm, and build greater mental and emotional resilience.
In our work together, we focus on understanding attachment patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, and developing skills for more intentional and effective communication. This process supports greater self-understanding, reduced stress, and improved overall well-being and life satisfaction.
I am trained in the Gottman Method for couples counselling, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, CBT, Somatic Psychotherapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Attachment Theory, and a trauma-informed approach to mental health care. I integrate tools from these modalities based on your unique needs and goals in counselling.
